Jones highlights Junior League
Emma Jones was the player of the day in the Zanesville Country Club Junior League on Friday, while the 9-holers were led by Low Scores: Addison Durst & Jamison Rosser and Low Putts: Logan Durst & Cohen Todd.

Steele leads Jaycees Ladies League
Carol Steele had low gross of 42 and low net of 31 in the Jaycees Thursday Evening Ladies League.
Longest putt on No. 15 was by Jackie Barnett, and the winning teams were 2, 5, 7, 8.
Maysville Youth Soccer League having registration
The Maysville Youth Soccer Program, for boys and girls in grades 1-6, is currently holding registrations for the upcoming fall.
Players can register in person through Thursday, July 22 at South Zanesville Eyecare or can mail registration forms to Maysville Youth Soccer Program, c/o Dr. Paul Hoffman, 3230 Lakewood Dr., Zanesville, OH 43701. Cost is $40 per player and checks only.

ZDGA Junior nearing
The Zanesville District Golf Association Junior Tournament will be held July 27-28, and the registration deadline is Tuesday, July 20.
Cost is $25 per player and features 36 holes with the first round at Vista and the second at EagleSticks. College scholarships are available.
Players can register by mailing entry forms with check or money order (no cash) to ZDGA, PO Box 2453, Zanesville, OH 43702 or payments can be submitted online, www. zdga.org.
Arch Memorial Outing to be in August
The fourth annual Arch Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Aug. 21 at Jaycees. Registration will start at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Cost is $240 per foursome, $60 per player, and deadline to sign up is Aug. 14. Hole and beverage cart sponsorships are available.

Football Officials class to be held
The Muskingum Valley Football Association will be sponsoring a class for those interested in becoming a high school football official.
Class will begin at 6 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Zanesville Middle School. Cost is $85 and includes not only the materials needed for the class but also the fee to register as a Football official with the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
The class will cover the rules of the High School game as well as the mechanics needed to be a successful Football Official. Taking this class will allow participants to begin officiating lower level football games beginning this season.

Hunter’s Education Course to be held
A Hunter’s Education course is being offered in August at the Zanesville Christian Missionary Church, 545 Richey Road in Zanesville.
Classes will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 27 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 28. The two-day course is free to the public, but people must register at www.wildOhio.com or call 1-800-wildlife.
Philo BB holding golf outing
Philo Boys Basketball will be holding a golf outing on Aug. 14 at Jaycees Golf Course.
Registration will begin at 7:30 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $260 per team with skins included. Payouts will be based on the amount of teams in the outing.
